- Describe the licenses available for a Mirapoint system.
- Describe the process to obtain and apply a Mirapoint
license key.
Module 3 – User & Administration Accounts
- Describe the difference between a user and administration
account.
- List the reserved login names.
- Describe the administration tasks a user may perform
on his or her account.
- List the type of administrators that may exist on a
Mirapoint system.
- Describe the unique tasks that may be performed by each
type of administrator.
Module 4 – Mailboxes & Messages

Module 6 – Mirapoint Domains

administer their account or access their e-mail messages.

Module 12 – System Monitoring
- Describe the information available about disk enclosures.
- Describe the health conditions that are monitored.
- Describe the performance moving graphs that are available.
- Describe the log files that are present on a Mirapoint
system.
- Describe the information found in each log file.
Module 13 – Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Describe the commands needed to troubleshoot network
connectivity to a system.
- Describe the commands needed to troubleshoot DNS information.
- Describe the components of a Mirapoint system that are
customer replaceable and the procedures for how to swap out those components.
- Describe what information is needed and how to obtain
it when contacting "Customer Support".
Module 14 – Backup & Restore
- Name the differences between a message-based and image-based
backup.
- List the data, which gets backed up.
- Name the backup solutions and approved tape devices
that can be directly attached to the Mirapoint system.
- Understand the NDMP protocol and backup topologies.
- List two important things to remember when performing
a restore.
Module 15 – Hardware Overview & System Setup

- Know the different storage options available.
- Know how to install the Messaging Operating System.
- Describe the order in which various components of a
Mirapoint system must be powered up.
- Describe the network parameters needed to setup a mail
access server.
Module 16 – Update & Recovery
- Describe the definition and purpose of an update.
- Describe how to install an update on a Mirapoint system.
- Describe the steps needed to fully recover a Mirapoint
system.
Module 17 – LDAP Overview
- Describe the definition and purpose of LDAP.
- Describe how a Mirapoint system uses an LDAP server.
- Know some useful LDAP resources (books and web sites).
Appendix A – DNS Mail Transit
- Identify the steps used when sending e-mail.
- Know what checks are being performed when sending e-mail.
- Describe what protocols are used at varying points of
mail transit in order to move e-mail from one point to another.
Appendix B – Pre - M400/M4000 Hardware & Setup
- Name Mirapoint's mail server and router products.
- Know what product can be used as a message router and
proxy switch.
