Module 1 – LDAP Basics

  • Describe the definition and purpose of LDAP.
  • Describe how a Mirapoint system may use an LDAP server.
  • Describe 3 LDAP hierarchical layouts that are commonly used.
  • Describe an LDAP distinguished name, attribute, object class, schema and entry.
  • Describe the definition and purpose of an LDIF file.
Module 2 LDAP Clients
  • Describe the definition and purpose of an LDAP query.
  • Describe the components, which makes up an LDAP query.
  • Know how to define an LDAP search on a Mirapoint system.
  • Know how to perform a search through an LDAP database using an Internet browser.
Module 3 Directory Service Setup
  • Define the Directory Service.
  • List the requirements necessary to use the Directory Service.
  • List and perform the steps needed to setup a directory database.
Module 4 Directory Information Tree (DIT) Creation
  • Describe the steps needed to successfully create a directory information tree.
  • Describe the Mirapoint CLI command that may be used to populate a directory information tree.
  • Describe the Mirapoint CLI command used to export data from a directory information tree to a text file.
Module 5 Replication
  • Know the definition and purpose of replication.
  • Define the master/slave setup options for replications.
  • Describe the information that is/is not replicated.
  • Describe what is needed to perform a replication.
  • Setup replication agreements and options.
  • Add hosts to a replication agreement.
  • Know how to perform a directory server replication.
Module 6 Access Control Lists & Indexing
  • Describe the definition and purpose of an ACL.
  • Describe the main components of an ACL.
  • Describe the commands used to create an ACL and ACL entry.
  • Describe the definition and purpose of an index.
  • Describe the commands used to create and list indexes.
