MIRAPOINT NAMES FORMER NETSCAPE EXECUTIVE BARRY M. ARIKO AS CEO; ADDS TWO BOARD MEMBERS
Ariko's 30 Years of Industry Experience Will Help Accelerate Mirapoint's Growth; Board Additions Further Strengthen Mirapoint's Strategic Leadership

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 5, 2003 - Mirapoint today announced that Barry M. Ariko has been named president and chief executive officer of the industry-leading provider of email and security appliances. Leveraging his extensive experience from Netscape, Oracle, and Tandem, Ariko will be responsible for extending Mirapoint's leadership in the messaging industry, while also expanding the global reach and market penetration of Mirapoint's Message Server and Message Director products. Mirapoint also announced the addition of two new members of their board of directors - Mike Orsak, managing general partner and co-founder of Worldview Technology Partners and Peters Suh, managing director of Fremont Communications.

Most recently, Ariko was chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Extricity, a business-to-business enterprise software provider that was acquired by Peregrine Systems in 2001. Prior to joining Extricity, Ariko served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Netscape and remained with the company through its acquisition by America Online (AOL). Before his tenure at Netscape, Ariko ran the Americas Division and was a member of the Executive Management Committee at Oracle and held various senior management positions at Tandem. Former CEO Satish Ramachandran will remain chairman of Mirapoint's board of directors.

Additional Board Members Strengthen Mirapoint Team
As new members of the Mirapoint board, Orsak and Suh's corporate leadership experience and track records of success will further position the company for growth.

Mike Orsak is a managing general partner and co-founder of Worldview Technology Partners and has more than 14 years of experience as a venture capitalist. Orsak has led or co-led investments into companies such as Ciena, Tivoli, NVidia, Corvis, Cyras, Tellium, Digital Think, AFC, Cosine, Obsidian, Netcore, and Redstone. Before founding Worldview, Orsak was a fund manager at JAFCO Ventures, and prior to that he was a research analyst at Robertson Stephens and Company.

Peters Suh is a managing director with Fremont Communications. Prior to joining Fremont, Suh was vice president and chief technical officer for Vodafone's Global Internet Services group and previously held a number of positions with AirTouch, including vice president of Internet Services, vice president of Management Information Services, and director of Systems Planning.
