BRUTÉLÉ CHOOSES MIRAPOINT'S PRODUCTS TO
DEVELOP NEW INTERNET MESSAGING CABLE SERVICE
PARIS - October 17, 2001 - Brutélé, a leading Belgian
telecommunications operator, has selected Mirapoint, a leading provider
of Internet messaging infrastructure products, to improve its Internet
messaging cable service for consumers and business users. Faced
with an increasing number of subscribers and requests for additional
e-mail services, Brutélé turned to Mirapoint to help
develop a new Internet messaging offering.
Brutélé's previous system was not able to handle
the addition of new services and lacked the ability to successfully
manage subscriber growth - which would lead to poor quality of service.
The company now uses Mirapoint's Internet Message Server for storing
and delivering messages for end users, and Mirapoint's Message Director
for scanning incoming and outgoing messages for harmful viruses
and spam.
According to Laurent Delbascour, Brutélé's Internet
department director, "We chose Mirapoint products for a number
of reasons including reliability, efficiency, easy configuration
and interoperability. Mirapoint's technology allows us to satisfy
customer demands by offering a high-performing, accessible and secure
Internet messaging service."
The Mirapoint system has improved Brutélé's messaging
service significantly including overall reliability, performance
in terms of sending and receiving e-mails, and highly effective
anti-virus protection. In addition, Brutélé is now
capable of offering new capabilities such as hosted messaging services
and Web and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)-based access to
email.
"Mirapoint's products have allowed us to add innovative services
to our Internet messaging offering that fully meet the needs of
our current users while helping us acquire new subscribers,"
states Brutélé's Director General, Jean-Michel Adant.
