MIRAPOINT INTRODUCES MESSAGE SERVER APPLIANCE WITH CORPORATE WEB CLIENT AS PART OF ITS SECURE MESSAGING INFRASTRUCTURE
New version of Message Server client offers enterprises a reliable, secure, easy-to-use alternative to other email offerings
SUNNYVALE, CA. October 3, 2005 – Mirapoint, the secure messaging experts, today introduced the Corporate Edition web client available with Mirapoint’s Message Server appliance. The Message Server enables enterprise organizations to build a secure messaging infrastructure with its unrivaled message security, server reliability, and user-based policy control. The Message Server also incorporates a secure webmail client and web calendar client with a fresh enterprise look and feel.
“Our newest Corporate Edition web client is tailored specifically to the needs of the enterprise market,” said Barry Ariko, chief executive officer of Mirapoint. “The corporate edition client offered with our Message Server provides rich collaboration for end users, while assuring secure mail communications from any location whether from a desktop or a mobile client.”
Secure Access to Email and Calendar
Touting a professional and easy-to-navigate interface, Mirapoint’s Webmail/WebCal client provides unparalleled security and usability as compared to other email clients available today. Security and authentication built into Mirapoint’s web client enables secure remote access from any browser.
Advanced webmail and web calendar features, such as shared folders and events, compose pop-up windows and auto-complete addressing, allow for improved employee productivity. Users experience a seamless transition from other email clients, with minimal training required. They are able to organize and share messages and events simply and easily for optimal productivity.
Integrated Functionality and Global Policy Management for Lowest TCO and Highest Control
The current email infrastructure is made up of multiple vendors covering security, policies, archiving, storage, serving and routing. All of these components make the email infrastructure expensive to manage, difficult to scale and upgrade, and can open up exploitable security gaps. Most email applications offer limited control over users and network performance and consider security and compliance as an afterthought.
By creating a purpose-built email appliance, Mirapoint simplifies email services by integrating key functionality into a highly reliable, simple and secure solution. Customers can build a secure messaging infrastructure that is simple to deploy, administer and control, scales easily, and reduces security vulnerabilities associated with point products. As a result of this integrated functionality, Mirapoint delivers the lowest TCO in the industry.
Mirapoint Message Server also includes global policy management of user behavior, security and network performance. With user-based policy controls, administrators can ensure that users comply with both regulatory and internal policies on acceptable email use. The result is unprecedented control of entire messaging infrastructure.
"Enterprises need mail solutions that can apply fine-grained policies to the mail stream, both inbound and outbound, to ensure that bad content is prevented from entering the organization--like malware and spam--and to ensure that good content is not leaking out--like confidential customer data or corporate intellectual property," said Trent Henry, Burton Group senior analyst.
Highest Reliability in the Messaging Industry For our key enterprise accounts, Mirapoint has been an ideal solution to deliver a secure and reliable email solution," said Douglas Abolt, Director of Product Development at Consolidated Communications, a top 15 independent service provider specializing in data and voice services for businesses. "The new corporate look and feel will enable our customers to roll out a new web-based email client that won't require user training and will maintain employee productivity, at the same time offering the improved reliability and security that the IT department demands."
To ensure maximum uptime for the most critical enterprise application on the network, Mirapoint’s messaging appliances offer carrier-class “five-nines” reliability and N=9 fault-tolerant redundancy. In addition, administrators will no longer need to restore entire email directories in the event of an outage or corrupt mailbox. Mirapoint’s Message Server now includes selective restore that allows administrators to restore a single mailbox at a time.
Mirapoint’s Message Server is the industry’s only dedicated appliance that integrates email routing, storage, access and management with comprehensive, multi-layered email security to block hackers, spam, and virus threats.
Message Server pricing begins at $19,995 for 250 users and is available now.
