MIRAPOINT & PARAGON SYSTEMS PARTNER TO PROVIDE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES WITH SECURE COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTIONS
Alliance to Deliver Powerful Email Infrastructure & Security Solutions

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA– (July 8, 2003) – Mirapoint, a leader in solutions for message networks, today announced that it has signed a national reseller agreement with Paragon Systems, a systems integrator focused on delivering leading-edge IT solutions to civilian, defense and intelligence agencies. Under the terms of the agreement, Paragon will market and sell Mirapoint products, including the Mirapoint Message Server, Message Director and Directory Server, to government agencies and vendors. Paragon will leverage its strong market position in the government sector and Mirapoint’s expertise on messaging and related security solutions to help government agencies better protect and secure their message networks. The Mirapoint product line will be available on Paragon’s GSA Schedule.

Servicing the Federal government since 1982, Paragon Systems’ customers include the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Department of Housing and Urban Development, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the Joint Special Operations Command. From on-site intelligence collection systems support at various military bases worldwide during the Cold War, to the integration of secure tactical systems today, Paragon has a proven track record of success in the government sector.

Like most traditional businesses, government agencies are increasingly depending on email for mission-critical communications. In addition, the federal government has recently focused a lot of resources and energy on implementing an extensive e-government strategy to simplify the delivery of services to citizens. A robust, reliable and easy to manage messaging platform should be the cornerstone for any e-government initiative.

“Today, government agencies are faced with ongoing reliability and security concerns related to their message network, including incoming threats from spam, virus and hacker attacks, as well as emerging regulatory, archival and policy-enforcement requirements that impact their outgoing message traffic,” said Gary Newgaard, president at Paragon Systems. “By integrating Mirapoint products into our portfolio, we can now deliver superior email infrastructure and comprehensive security solutions to government agencies, which are also seeking to implement e-government initiatives as part of the President’s government reform efforts to reduce bureaucracy.”

As part of this reseller agreement, Paragon will join Mirapoint’s Government Solutions Partner program. Under the program, Paragon will receive significant joint marketing and sales assistance from Mirapoint when pursuing government market opportunities. In addition to the Government Solutions Partner program, Mirapoint also has other partner programs for resellers focused on Mirapoint’s comprehensive messaging solutions (Total Solutions Partner) or email security and boundary control solutions (Security Solutions Partner). Resellers interested in enrolling in any of Mirapoint’s partner programs can access more information online at http://www.mirapoint.com/partners/channel_partners/.

“We are excited to sign Paragon Systems, a company with strong experience in supporting government requirements, as a partner to help expand Mirapoint’s presence and reach within the government market,” said Nadia Mansour, Mirapoint’s Vice President of Worldwide Channels and Alliances. “We are confident that the combination of Paragon’s extensive industry knowledge and strong customer relationships, especially in the intelligence community, as well as Mirapoint’s best-of-breed messaging and security products, will be a truly powerful partnership for success.”
