Mirapoint Announces Aggressive Competitive Upgrade Program
New Upgrade Program Targets Companies Looking to Replace Existing
Messaging Systems
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 12, 2002 - Mirapoint, a leading provider
of Internet messaging solutions, has announced a competitive upgrade
program to advance the messaging capabilities of companies faced
with under-performing or unsupported messaging systems. This new
program allows companies to take advantage of Mirapoint's integrated
hardware and software solutions bundled with comprehensive migration
services in order to move from legacy systems to the highly reliable
and easy-to-manage Mirapoint platform.
Most messaging systems today are based on freeware applications,
such as Sendmail, or commercial-grade products, such as those from
Openwave, that are software-only solutions deployed on general-purpose
servers. These complex systems are difficult to manage, prone to
outages and have high operating costs. Mirapoint's competitive upgrade
program offers customers an easy to maintain, reliable and secure
messaging system that relieves the burdens associated with these
piecemeal solutions.
As part of the program, Mirapoint has designed tools to accelerate
migrations, so customers and partners can quickly and confidently
move to Mirapoint. These tools can handle migrating message information,
as well as user preferences such as filtering and forwarding rules,
address book content and other user-specified data.
SIGECOM, an Indiana-based service provider offering telephone,
data and cable services, recently experienced a successful migration
from Openwave's Post.Office to Mirapoint's messaging system. "Our
legacy email service was unreliable and prone to outages,"
said Curtis Rose, data services manager for SIGECOM. "We chose
