Mirapoint and Lexacom Ink Deal to Deliver Integrated IP E-Mail and Calendaring Solution to Enterprises and Service Providers
Companies Integrate Existing E-Mail and Calendaring Systems; Will Work Together to Create Future IP-Based Products

CUPERTINO, CA - MAY 24, 1999 - Mirapoint, Inc., the pioneering developer of function-specific Internet messaging servers for corporations and service providers, and Lexacom, the leading provider of IP-based calendaring software, today announced a strategic technology and marketing alliance for delivering integrated messaging and calendaring services. With this alliance, Mirapoint now provides enterprises and service providers with an Internet-based messaging and calendaring solution that users can access from any standard Web client. Additionally, the companies announced that they would work together on future products that will combine the benefits of Lexacom’s calendaring and wireless data server software with Mirapoint’s application-specific server hardware and software technology for IP messaging.

As a result of this partnership, Mirapoint and Lexacom are making it possible for corporations and service providers, such as ISPs and application outsourcers, to deliver both IP-based messaging and calendaring services. While many organizations are attracted to the lower cost-of-ownership, ubiquitous availability, and sophisticated functionality of Internet messaging, until now, they have not had the option of easily deploying integrated messaging and calendaring services. The Mirapoint and Lexacom servers automatically update each other, and enable users to access both email and time-based data and synchronization tools through a single Web client, such as Netscape Communicator or Microsoft Outlook.
