MIRAPOINT A WINNER IN BEST OF SHOW AWARD PROGRAM AT NETWORLD+INTEROP 99 LAS VEGAS
Mirapoint's M100/M1000 IP Messaging Servers Chosen by Data Communications and InternetWeek Editors
Sunnyvale, Calif. - May 13, 1999 - Mirapoint, Inc. today announced that the company's M100/M1000 IP Messaging servers have been selected as winners of the Best of Show Award in the Network Server Systems and Peripherals category at NetWorld+Interop 99 Las Vegas. The Best of Show award winners are selected from hundreds of new products, with the editors looking for the cutting edge networking benefits offered to users. The Award was presented in a ceremony at NetWorld+Interop in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 12.
Mirapoint’s dedicated Internet messaging servers feature IP-based messaging software tightly integrated with application-specific operating software and industry standard hardware to provide best-of-class Internet e-mail services. The M100 and M1000 are used by corporations, and a variety of messaging and application outsourcing providers, including ISPs, IAPs, NEPs, ASPs, CLECs, wireless carriers, and messaging service providers.
Mirapoint’s M100 and M1000 servers deliver exceptional value on a cost per user basis, enabling service providers to deliver e-mail outsourcing for shared hosting, co-located or managed care and customer premise equipment services. A single M1000 system can support up to 150,000 POP users in a service provider environment, and multiple Mirapoint IP messaging servers can be deployed to cater to millions of users. Unlike messaging systems built around general-purpose UNIX or Windows NT servers, the Mirapoint solution is a dedicated device that is optimized for a single purpose and sets new standards for Internet e-mail server simplicity, reliability and performance.
"We are delighted to win this prestigious award, and that the benefits of our server products are recognized by editors of two of the leading publications in the industry," said Cheena Srinivasan, vice president of Marketing at Mirapoint. "It is gratifying to see that the selection committee valued Mirapoint’s innovative approach of creating a dedicated, function-specific server to the challenge of providing high-performance and highly reliable Internet messaging services."
