NECSoft Chooses Mirapoint for Easily Scalable Messaging
Solution
TOKYO, May 8, 2002 - NECSoft, a Japanese systems integration, system
services, and software development company, has purchased a Mirapoint
messaging system to handle a rapidly increasing volume of e-mail
messages that threatened to bring its legacy UNIX-based system to
its knees. NECSoft, which considers e-mail a mission-critical tool,
was also looking for a system that would be more secure and cost
effective and that could scale easily as the company grew.
With few engineers to manage its system, NECSoft needed a messaging
solution that was easy to deploy and manage. With almost 7,000 new
users and 350,000 e-mails per day, NECSoft has been able to keep
up with increased usage without having to hire more technical support
staff.
"Deployment of the Mirapoint system was exceptionally smooth,"
said Mr. Sugiura of NECSoft. "The system has worked flawlessly
and has proven to be remarkably easy to operate and manage. We also
appreciate Mirapoint's flexibility and ability to provide other
services. For example, we're looking at supporting IMAP and also
considering the possibility of introducing i-mode access."
NECSoft has deployed Mirapoint's Message Servers, integrated systems
for message routing, storage and access, and a Message Director,
a high-throughput message processing engine. Two Mirapoint Message
Servers have been clustered together to provide higher security
and back up. The Mirapoint system was sold to NECSoft through Nissho
Electronics.
