Award-Winning Mirapoint RazorGate 100 Now Available on HP ProLiant Servers

SUNNYVALE, CA., May 03, 2005 — Mirapoint® today announced the general availability of the RazorGate 100 email security appliance based on HP ProLiant DL140 servers. The RazorGate 100 provides customers with highly effective email security protection in a compact, 1U appliance that can be deployed quickly and works with any existing mail server, such as Exchange. In addition to being available from Mirapoint, the RazorGate 100 can also be purchased directly from the HP sales force or through HP’s channel partners.

Mirapoint today also announced the RazorGate 100 based on HP hardware was awarded InfoWorld Magazine’s highest recognition available with an “Excellent” rating and leadership score of 9.2. InfoWorld’s testing was conducted in production environment at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California and demonstrated 97% spam catch-rates and zero critical false-positives. According to the InfoWorld reviewer, “the [RazorGate] appliance’s ability to reject a large portion of spam without having to filter it is unique in my experience. With anti-virus and policy enforcement, excellent reporting tools, and enterprise-class, multi-domain management tools, there’s little left to look for in an e-mail security appliance.”

The RazorGate 100 based on HP servers offers the same email security features available in previous versions of the RazorGate product line, including Mirapoint’s Full-Spectrum™ multi-layered email security technology for managing the broad range of threats affecting incoming and outgoing message traffic. This includes powerful virus and spam-stopping technologies like MailHurdle™ for edge-blocking and Rapid™ for real-time protection, as well as tools for better managing outgoing traffic through policy controls and detailed reporting. By porting the RazorGate 100’s underlying Mirapoint Messaging Operating System (MOS) software to HP hardware, customers will benefit from greater performance and increased storage capacity.
