MIRAPOINT NAMES THREE NEW EXECUTIVES TO BOLSTER COMPANY'S
EXPANSION EFFORTS
SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 23, 2002 - Mirapoint, the pioneering developer
of award-winning Internet messaging systems, has strengthened its
executive team with the appointment of three new vice presidents.
The new executives include Nadia Mansour, vice president of global
alliances, Anurag Narula, vice president of engineering and Michael
Smith, vice president of sales development. These new appointments
will allow Mirapoint to continue to deliver compelling products,
form strategic technology and channel partnerships and expand its
presence in emerging markets such as Latin America.
"The experience and talent that Nadia, Anurag and Michael
bring to Mirapoint will help us to realize success in broadening
our product capabilities, extending our global reach and penetrating
new markets," said Mirapoint's chairman and chief executive
officer Satish Ramachandran. "I'm confident that these new
additions to the Mirapoint management team will help the company
continue to achieve year-over-year revenue growth and win key accounts
around the world."
As vice president for global alliances, Nadia Mansour will have
responsibility for developing strategic relationships with worldwide
leaders in wireless, wireline and enterprise markets. Mansour will
also lead Mirapoint's business development and sales efforts in
Latin America.
Mansour is a seasoned executive with 20 years of extensive worldwide
experience in business development, marketing, sales and program
management, and joins Mirapoint most recently from Procket Networks
where she was vice president of business development. Prior to that
position, Mansour had responsibility for worldwide marketing and
sales operations for Lucent (Ascend Communications), Cisco Systems
and 3Com, respectively, where she established a significant track
record in building global partnerships for these networking leaders.
As Mirapoint's vice president of engineering, Anurag Narula will
be responsible for Mirapoint's product development-chiefly the incorporation
of innovative new technology into the company's Internet messaging
products. Prior to this appointment, Narula was director of engineering
at Mirapoint for two years. Narula has over 18 years of engineering
and management experience and joined the company from Silicon Graphics,
where he was director of networking software.
As Mirapoint's vice president of sales management, Michael Smith
will focus on channel development, insuring that the company has
valuable programs for systems integrators, OEM partners and VARs.
Prior to joining Mirapoint, Smith was vice president of marketing
and general manager of the EtherWire Project at ControlNet. Smith
also has held director level positions in marketing and business
development at Newbridge Networks, Ungermann-Bass Networks and NetWorth.
