MIRAPOINT NAMES THREE NEW EXECUTIVES TO BOLSTER COMPANY'S EXPANSION EFFORTS

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 23, 2002 - Mirapoint, the pioneering developer of award-winning Internet messaging systems, has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of three new vice presidents. The new executives include Nadia Mansour, vice president of global alliances, Anurag Narula, vice president of engineering and Michael Smith, vice president of sales development. These new appointments will allow Mirapoint to continue to deliver compelling products, form strategic technology and channel partnerships and expand its presence in emerging markets such as Latin America.

"The experience and talent that Nadia, Anurag and Michael bring to Mirapoint will help us to realize success in broadening our product capabilities, extending our global reach and penetrating new markets," said Mirapoint's chairman and chief executive officer Satish Ramachandran. "I'm confident that these new additions to the Mirapoint management team will help the company continue to achieve year-over-year revenue growth and win key accounts around the world."

As vice president for global alliances, Nadia Mansour will have responsibility for developing strategic relationships with worldwide leaders in wireless, wireline and enterprise markets. Mansour will also lead Mirapoint's business development and sales efforts in Latin America.

Mansour is a seasoned executive with 20 years of extensive worldwide experience in business development, marketing, sales and program management, and joins Mirapoint most recently from Procket Networks where she was vice president of business development. Prior to that position, Mansour had responsibility for worldwide marketing and sales operations for Lucent (Ascend Communications), Cisco Systems and 3Com, respectively, where she established a significant track record in building global partnerships for these networking leaders.

As Mirapoint's vice president of engineering, Anurag Narula will be responsible for Mirapoint's product development-chiefly the incorporation of innovative new technology into the company's Internet messaging products. Prior to this appointment, Narula was director of engineering at Mirapoint for two years. Narula has over 18 years of engineering and management experience and joined the company from Silicon Graphics, where he was director of networking software.

As Mirapoint's vice president of sales management, Michael Smith will focus on channel development, insuring that the company has valuable programs for systems integrators, OEM partners and VARs. Prior to joining Mirapoint, Smith was vice president of marketing and general manager of the EtherWire Project at ControlNet. Smith also has held director level positions in marketing and business development at Newbridge Networks, Ungermann-Bass Networks and NetWorth.
