MIRAPOINT CONTRACTS IBM TO SERVICE E-MAIL MESSAGING CUSTOMERS

Sunnyvale, CA. March 8, 2000 - Mirapoint, Inc., a leading provider of Internet infrastructure solutions for business communications, today announced that IBM Global Services is now the preferred services provider for Mirapoint e-mail messaging products. With this agreement, Mirapoint's rapidly growing customer base will now be able to take advantage of IBM's industry-leading services and support.

Under the terms of the agreement, IBM Global Services will deliver on-site maintenance services, installation support, project management services, and help desk and technical support for Mirapoint solutions. The services are currently available in the United States, with plans to extend them to Canada, Europe and Asia later this year.

"By building the best-of-class Internet messaging solution, Mirapoint's worldwide growth has exploded both in the enterprise and service provider markets," said Walt Brown, vice president of Customer Service at Mirapoint. "This agreement ensures that our broad base of customers can be supported by IBM Global Services' skilled services team."

Market research has shown that the e-mail messaging market is expanding exponentially. According to a July, 1999 report from IDC, a leading market research firm, there will be an estimated 757 million e-mail mailboxes in existence by 2005. The firm also projects that the number of US. hosted e-mail mailboxes, in which e-mail accounts can be outsourced from a service provider, will grow from 12 million in 1999 to 57 million in 2005.
