James Madison University Standardizes On Mirapoint Messaging
Latest University Deployment For 22,000 Users

SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 20, 2003 - Mirapoint, a leading provider of messaging solutions for the service provider, enterprise, education and government markets, today announced that James Madison University (JMU) will implement Mirapoint messaging systems to improve online communications for its 22,000 students, faculty and staff. JMU conducted an RFP and detailed analysis of the proposals, and ultimately chose Mirapoint for the deployment.

"Email is a very important application at JMU because it touches every single person associated with the university," said Dale Hulvey, assistant vice president for information technology at James Madison University. "It was important that we upgrade our customized freeware based email system so we could provide a more reliable email service with functionality for the future."

JMU will implement the Mirapoint Message Server M4000 and Message Director MD400 products to meet the university's changing messaging and security requirements and create a unified system that supports webmail, anti-spam filtering, virus protection, wireless access to email and calendaring.
