SEMA AND MIRAPOINT PROVIDE MOBILE E-MAIL SOLUTION USING
SEMA'S HIGH PERFORMANCE SMSC (short message service center)
February 20, 2001 - Sema, one of the world's leading IT and business
services companies, today announced its new enhanced messaging service
offering for telecom operators. The new solution, Mobile E-mail,
is an integral part of the GPRS and 3G messaging environment and
offers operators superior e-mail hosting servers and infrastructure
provided by Mirapoint, Inc., a leading provider of Internet messaging
infrastructure equipment.
Mobile E-mail will enable operators to offer interactive Internet
e-mail services, so that users can choose how to send and retrieve
their e-mails, whether it be by SMS, WAP or internet based technologies.
The solution is a combination of Sema messaging and gateway solutions
coupled with enhanced Internet technology providing operators with
complete messaging services that will increase customer loyalty
and network productivity.
When implementing Sema's messaging portals and gateways with Mirapoint's
Internet messaging products, operators can deploy wireless messaging
services to subscribers for routing, storing and providing access
to e-mail messages quickly and efficiently.

Sema's Mobile E-mail solution supports e-mail submission and delivery
to and from a handheld phone. Furthermore, it provides intelligent
notification alerts as short messages with filtering parameters
that are determined by the subscriber. For example, subscribers
can set up personal e-mail filtering preferences via a Web interface,
such as notification to the handset of high priority e-mail. Subscribers
are then able to browse their mailbox via WAP or the Web through
a personalised user interface.
