Mirapoint Breaks Industry Speed Record For Messaging
Outperforms Competition with Fastest Email Security & Server Appliances Available

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 17, 2004 -Following on the heels of the successful 45-Series launch, Mirapoint® today announced that its Message Director MD450 email security appliance delivers the world's best price-performance and fastest message throughput available in a single, easy-to-install 3U appliance. The Message Director MD450 is the flagship product in Mirapoint's complete family of email security appliances, which also includes the RazorGate® 100 and RazorGate 300 appliances.

Based on the industry-standard SPECmail2001 (Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation) benchmark, the Message Director can handle SMTP-based message processing in excess of 700,000 messages per hour and clearly outperform other email security solutions, including products from Ciphertrust and Ironport. Furthermore, the Message Director was also recently recognized as having the industry's "best accuracy for spam catch-rates with zero false positives" based on independent analysis by a leading trade magazine.

As part of the benchmark results, Mirapoint also set a new world record for user consolidation and performance for core email services, supporting over 300,000 SPECmail users on a single Mirapoint Message Server M4500 appliance.
