Internet Messaging Appliance Pioneer Appoints Robert Reive as Manager of Northern Sales Region

Mississauga, ON - February 2, 1999 — Mirapoint Inc., the pioneering developer of function-specific Internet messaging servers for corporations and ISPs, today announced the appointment of Robert Reive as Region Manager of the company’s newly established Northern territory sales office. Based in Ontario, Canada, the Northern Region sales office will be responsible for securing new corporate and ISP customers and reseller relationships in the northern U.S. as well as the Eastern, Central and Western regions of Canada.

As the developer of the industry’s first high-performance Internet e-mail thin server, Mirapoint is delivering a purpose-built, application-specific appliance for standards-based e-mail services. This new class of messaging appliance enables corporations and ISPs to deliver highly reliable, cost-effective and easily scalable e-mail services that can keep pace with the exploding number of Internet e-mail users and their associated storage requirements.

Reive, who will be responsible for all regional sales and marketing, field sales and support staff hires, and signing and management of all reseller relationships in the region, previously served as Senior Director of Service Provider Sales worldwide with FORE Systems, where he also held positions as Director of Vertical Market Sales worldwide and Regional Sales Director for Germany and Central Europe. Previously, Reive was European Business Development Manager with Cisco Systems. He holds an HBA from the Richard Ivy School of Business Administration, University of Western Ontario with a concentration in computer science, information systems sales and marketing.
