PSINet Europe Chooses Mirapoint To Boost Reliability And Security Of Message Network
Leading Provider of Intelligent e-business Infrastructure Selects Mirapoint's Email and Security Appliances

Mirapoint has announced that PSINet Europe, a leading provider of e-business infrastructure solutions, has successfully completed the upgrade of its European messaging system. Mirapoint's technology was chosen to enable the delivery of advanced business email services to PSINet Europe's 13,000 customers, eliminate email latency and enhance resiliency within the network.

The Mirapoint installation will enable PSINet Europe to standardise its European-wide email service on a single platform for ease of management and the development of new services. Mirapoint's multi-tiered messaging infrastructure replaced PSINet Europe's previous solution that had been developed in-house.

"We wanted to be able to provide a resilient mail platform with business-grade features such as Webmail, Calendaring, Antivirus, Antispam and IMAP," said Michael Day, CTO at PSINet Europe. "These services allow our customers to dispense with their own in-house email solutions and outsource this vital component of everyday business activity to us."

PSINet Europe implemented Mirapoint's Message Directory, Message Director MD400 and Message Server M2500 dedicated messaging systems. The Message Server M2500 provides an end-to-end infrastructure for secure and reliable message storage and access. The Message Director MD400 works with any Internet messaging environment to provide scalable routing services. It can support millions of email messages daily and provide protection from email borne viruses and spam.
