Mirapoint Strengthens Management Team
Industry Veterans Bring Wealth of Messaging and Operations Expertise to Accelerate Mirapoint's Growth

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 14, 2004 - Mirapoint today announced the appointment of two seasoned industry executives to the company's growing management team. Marc Linden joins Mirapoint as the new chief financial officer and senior vice president of corporate development, bringing with him extensive messaging experience from Openwave Systems. In addition, with more than 20 years of industry experience specifically in operations management, Jerry Davis has been named senior vice president of operations.

"Marc's experience in messaging and knowledge of corporate finance, coupled with Jerry's work in operations management throughout his career, will be beneficial to Mirapoint as we continue growing our business and expanding into new markets," said Barry Ariko, chief executive officer at Mirapoint. "Marc and Jerry joined Mirapoint because they saw a huge opportunity in the ever-expanding, multi-billion dollar market for email and security solutions. Utilizing his extensive experience in messaging, Linden will help define Mirapoint's vision and corporate strategy, as well as oversee all of Mirapoint's financials and financial-related reporting. Formerly a chief strategist at Openwave, Linden was responsible for developing product and business strategy for all of Openwave's messaging products. Prior to this position, Linden served as vice president and general manager of unified messaging at Openwave and was previously the chief financial officer at Onebox.com prior to its acquisition by Openwave in 2000. To further Linden's messaging and Internet experience, he also held executive management positions with Octel Communications Corporation and Global Village Communication. He is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley and holds a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard School of Business Administration.

Davis originally joined Mirapoint to serve as acting president and chief executive officer. With operations management experience at a number of high-technology companies, Davis will manage internal logistics and operations at Mirapoint, as well as handle end-to-end process improvements. Before joining the Mirapoint team, Davis served as the chief operating officer and president of Wytec, a leader in the development of Local Multipoint Distribution Services (LMDS) fixed wireless equipment. Prior to Wytec, Davis was vice president of operations and customer logistics at Nokia Internet Communications and was responsible for quadrupling production of its security products in less than one year. Davis has also held executive positions at Silicon Wireless and Network Equipment Technologies. He is a graduate of the DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago and the Berkeley Executive Program at the Walter A. Haas School of Business at University of California at Berkeley.
