Mirapoint Joins Cisco Hosted Application Initiative
Mirapoint’s Solution Enables ASPs to Offer a Cost-Effective Alternative to Purchasing and Managing Internet E-Mail and Messaging Solutions

Cupertino, Calif. – January 5, 2000 – Mirapoint, Inc., the leading provider of Internet infrastructure solutions for business communications, today announced that it is joining the Cisco Hosted Applications Initiative. As a result, businesses can now rely on highly trained application service providers that are part of the Cisco Hosted Applications Initiative to design, deploy, manage and maintain Mirapoint’s Internet e-mail and messaging solutions. Outsourcing e-mail and other Internet-based messaging applications such as integrated voice, fax, data and video, provides businesses with a cost-effective alternative to purchasing and managing their own messaging infrastructures.

Launched in April 1999, the Cisco Hosted Applications Initiative provides businesses of all sizes with access to powerful applications that were previously beyond their reach. The initiative creates an emerging ecosystem of software application vendors, hardware vendors, application service providers (ASPs), Internet service providers, co-location providers, system integrators, and technology partners to deliver a variety of hosted business applications.

Through this initiative, Mirapoint will fully test, bench-mark and optimize its blended hardware and software solutions for a Cisco end-to-end network infrastructure. By deploying e-mail and messaging over a Cisco Powered Network service provider infrastructure, Mirapoint assures customers that their Internet e-mail and messaging systems are delivered with the industry’s highest level of reliability, security and performance.
