JOB DESCRIPTION

Enhance and maintain high performance email server appliances. The product line includes high performance servers providing mail routing, filtering, storage, and access via standard POP, IMAP, and SMTP protocols.    Potential activities include: Selecting or modifying the file system, Database layer and other file layouts.  Identify the best possible solutions for Linux based backup (NDMP), monitoring, logging and setup solutions.   Release packaging and installation scripting.  Ongoing maintenance and enhancements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

·        10+ years of development experience in Linux, C and networking
·        Strong C programming experience on UNIX/FreeBSD/Linux
·        Experience with multi-threaded, select loop applications and reliable, long-running daemons
·        Extensive experience on Linux , porting/developing multi threaded high performance applications to Linux
·        Familiar with using scripting languages such as Perl, UNIX shell, sed, awk, etc.

DESIRED SKILLS (one or more of following skills)

·        Familiar with messaging protocols (POP, IMAP, SMTP, Sendmail, Postfix)
·        Experience with content filtering or text search applications
·        Experience in running profiling to identify the performance bottlenecks and solving them
·        Track record of high quality work on complex existing applications
